The FIR, filed by Bindra's brother-in-law at the Noida Sector 126 police station, details that Vivek Bindra, married to Yanika since November 6, 2023, resides with his family in Supernova Apartment in Noida Sector 94. The complaint outlines an altercation on December 7, 2023, where Bindra, engaged in an argument with his mother, Prabha, late at night, allegedly assaulted his wife when she intervened, subsequently expelling her from the residence.

Following the incident, Vaibhav Kwatra, Bindra's brother-in-law, admitted Yanika to a private hospital in Delhi, where she is currently undergoing treatment.
