While terming the UNO an Important contact link between the countries of the world, chairman Hurriyat Conference (G) Syed Ali Geelani said that its role with regarding to the Kashmir dispute is a historical fact and it can neither be neglected nor can it be termed unnecessary.According to a statement issued to KNS, while terming the closure of UN office in Delhi as stupidity of the new government of India, he said that reality can’t be changed by turning the face away from it.The pro-freedom leader of Kashmir said that if during the last 67 years, no progress were made with regarding to the resolution of the Kashmir issue but the UNO still provides a strong base for the peaceful, democratic and practicable solution of this issue and the 18 resolutions present in its charter doesn’t only accept the right to self determination of the people of Kashmir but this institution also advocates the restoration of this right to its people.He said that the Kashmir dispute was taken to the UNO by India itself which have created a role for UNO in this dispute. The office of the peace keeping mission of the UNO was established here with the consent of both India and Pakistan and its presence in this trouble-tone region of the world is very essential.

Geelani  said that the role of UNO in Kashmir issue is an admitted fact and denying its role can lead to the disastrous situation. “It will not only add to the tension between the two nuclear armed neighbors but it will also increase the political uncertainty and instability into the entire South Asian region. The anarchy will spread in the sub continent and India can’t remain unaffected due to its negative impacts. Hurriyat chairman said that closing down the UN office in Delhi proves that the new government of India is immature and unbalanced and they are acting in haste and it is an emotional decision, but by doing this nether can India change the realities regarding the Kashmir dispute nor can be the international status of this issue affected.” The pro-freedom leader of Kashmir said that there is no way left with India except that now or later on they have to accept the ground realities of Kashmir issue. The role of the UNO in resolution of Kashmir issue will be very vital and both the countries are in need of it. The Hurriyat chairman expressed his hope that with the changing global scenario the role of UNO will emerge more important and this institution will not only show its presence but it will also play its role in resolving the other issues of the world which are danger to the peace of the world.

Meanwhile strongly condemning the incident in which a Shiv Sena MP forced a Muslim employee to break his Ramadan Fast, chairman Hurriyat Conference (G) Syed Ali Geelani said that with the establishment of new BJP government in New Delhi, all the communal minded mad people have got encouraged and they have directly started the anti-Muslim activities. He said that to force feed a fasting Muslim is not an ordinary and simple incident but it is the indication that in future the Hindutva and hindu rashtre will be forcibly thrust upon the Muslims of India and whoever will oppose it, he will be either killed or forced to exile.

Geelani  said that the Indian secularism have although proven a hoax and merely a deception in the Congress regime and it was never seen on the ground but this country is now getting completely exposed and it is adopting the shape of a Hindu imperialist power and this fact is proved that the communal slogan like “Bahrat main agar rehna hain to Ram Ram kehna hain” (if you want to live in India then you have to accept the Hindu religion), is becoming the government policy of India.Hurriyat chairman said that the starting of the Kounsar Nag and other yatras in Kashmir is also a link of this process and it is an attempt to make the Hindutva a national religion of India. All the communal minded people of India are hell-bent upon to eliminate the identity of the minorities particularly Muslims and Kashmir is their main target. Geelani  cautioned that such activities will not only be resisted tooth and nail in Kashmir but it will endanger the existence of India itself and this country will break into pieces. (KNS)
