New Year present to government employees in Punjab, the Mann government announces 4% DA increase

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Punjab unit welcomes the decision of the Mann government to increase DA by 4% for Punjab government employees. AAP termed this decision a good step in the welfare of employees who work hard for our state. Addressing a press conference from the party office in Chandigarh on Monday, the AAP Punjab chief spokesperson Malvinder Singh Kang, along with AAP spokesperson Govinder Mittal, said that the AAP government is the government of every section in Punjab, no section or community will be left behind while Punjab is on the right path of progress. 

Every decision of the Mann government is for the welfare of the people of Punjab and this time our government gave a present to all the government employees on the occasion of New Year. Kang said that in the Mann government 90% of households are getting zero electricity bills, every corner of every field is getting canal water, 40,000 government jobs to our youth and all the departments of  the Punjab government witnessed revenue increase under the able leadership of the chief minister Bhagwant Mann.

Kang further said that employees are a very significant section of our system and their welfare is important too, Mann government's decision to increase DA by 4% is welcomed. This increase will be applicable from December 1st, 2023 and 3.25 lakh government employees and 3.5 lakh pensioners to get the benefit of it. This DA hike will cost the Punjab government Rs 1100 crores yearly. 

Kang said that employees have a vital role in making the 'Rangla Punjab' so their demands are listened to with the utmost priority in the Mann government. He said that the AAP government regularised 12,000 government teachers in Punjab which was unprecedented, similarly we are implementing UGC pay scale. He said that the Mann government will soon take up the matter of OTS (Old Pension Scheme) with the centre's Modi government too.
