Workshop on “Developed India @ 2047-Voice of Youth” held at Raj Bhavan

Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla said today that we must channelize the energy of youth in a constructive direction to achieve the vision of developed India in the next 25 years. He stated this while addressing the workshop organized at Raj Bhavan on the topic 'Developed India @2047-Voice of Youth' through virtual mode from Delhi.

Sh. Shukla said that the vision of making India a leading developed nation by 2047 and the ideas invited by Prime Minister Narendra Modi regarding our contribution to achieve this target were very important. He added that the 21st century would be India's era, as the country is marching ahead with confidence in its capabilities.

A 'Vision India-2047' document was being that would outline the institutional and structural changes and reforms that the country would require to become a developed nation by 2047. The Governor also expressed concern over the increasing drug addiction among the youth and stated the addiction has engulfed educational institutions, which needs to be stopped. 

He said that with a population of 144 crore, India was one of the youngest countries with an average age of 29 years. This was approximately 20 percent of the total youth population of the world. By using this demographic dividend well, we could take India forward as a most progressive nation.

Earlier, the launching programme of India @2047 Idea Portal by Prime Minister and his virtual address was also telecasted at Raj Bhavan. Rajesh Sharma, Secretary to Governor gave a detailed presentation on the theme “Developed India@2047-Voice of Youth” which was set by NITI Aayog.

Five groups were formed in the workshop, which gave their presentations on the topics of Empowered Indian, Thriving and Sustainable Economy, Innovation, Science and Technology, Good Governance and Security and India in the World on the occasion. Vice Chancellors, Directors, Pro-Vice Chancellors, Deans, Principals, Professors and faculty members of all the universities of Himachal Pradesh took part in the workshop.
