Infiltration bid foiled in Poonch

The army on Wednesday said that it foiled an infiltration bid in Balakote sector along Line of Control (LoC) in border district of Jammu and Kashmir.An army official told GNS that last night at around 11:30 pm, a group of militants tried to sneak into this side at Trikundi forests near 489 Alfa Post. “There were around 10 to 12 militants. They tried to sneak into Indian side but soldiers of 6 Rajputna Rifles fired at them and foiled their incursion bid,” the official said.He said there was exchange of fire between two sides till 1:00 am. “However, there was no casualty,” he added.Meanwhile, sources told GNS that following intrusion bid, army carried out a search operation in the area.
