The saffron fields of Pampore have transformed into a captivating spectacle, drawing hordes of tourists who flock to witness the resplendent blooms. With the recent saffron blossom, visitors from near and far have been converging on this saffron town to behold the maroon, yellow, and purple hues of these world-renowned flowers.

Ghulam Rasool, a local resident, shared with Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that tourists have been visiting these fields for the past week, capturing the enchanting landscapes with their cameras. He highlighted that the recent rainfall has played a pivotal role in the blooming of saffron fields, which are increasingly becoming a magnet for tourists.

"In a fashion akin to how tourists capture the beauty of Dal Lake, Pahalgam, Gulmarg, and other well-known spots, the saffron fields have now become a must-visit destination," Rasool said.Bilal Ahmad, another local resident, noted that visitors are not only mesmerized by the visual splendor but also by the fragrant aroma of saffron, prompting many to make on-the-spot purchases.

Rajan, a tourist hailing from Gujarat, expressed that visiting Kashmir and spending time in the saffron fields had been a long-standing dream. Other visitors echoed this sentiment, highlighting that the opportunity to spend time in saffron fields and witness the blooming of the world's most expensive spice, considering its weight, is a rare and cherished experience.

Officials informed KNO that this year's saffron bloom was delayed due to an abrupt drop in temperature last October. Typically, the fields would be in full bloom by the last week of October, but despite the delay, the saffron fields continue to captivate visitors with their breathtaking beauty. The saffron fields of Pampore have now carved a place for themselves on the must-visit list of tourists seeking nature's finest spectacles.
