District Rent Assessment Committee Approves 25 Rent Cases in Baramulla District

A meeting of the District Rent Assessment Committee (DRAC), presided over by Deputy Commissioner (DC) Baramulla, Dr. Syed Sehrish Asgar, saw the approval of 25 rent cases related to the district. These cases span various sectors, including Agriculture, Education, Food Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs (FCS&CA), and Horticulture, among others.

The committee's agenda primarily revolved around determining the rent rates for different structures housing government offices throughout the district. Of the 41 cases brought forward for discussion during the meeting, 25 cases received approval.

In her address to the committee, DC Dr. Syed Sehrish Asgar emphasized the importance of timely rent payments to the owners of the land and structures, underlining the need to safeguard government and rented accommodations. She further instructed the relevant authorities to promptly settle the approved rent, along with any arrears, once the title verification certificate is issued by the respective Tehsildar.

The meeting was attended by key officials, including Director Planning M. Yousuf Rather, Assistant Commissioner Revenue Peerzada Mumtaz Ahmad, Superintending Engineer R&B Reyaz Ahmad Parry, and the Agriculture officer, along with other relevant officers from various departments.
