Aryans Group of Colleges, Chandigarh to hold SC/ST/OBC Counseling on 23 July

To create awareness among the masses about various Government Scholarship schemes, Chandigarh based Aryans Group of Colleges would be organizing SC/ST/OBC Counseling on 23rd July at Aryans Group of Colleges, Chandigarh-Patiala Highway, Near Chandigarh. Those who are interested in taking part in this awareness drive can register at 1800-30000-388 or log on to www.aryans.edu.in.Dr. Anshu Kataria, Chairman, Aryans Group of Colleges said that there are many Scholarship schemes about which students are not aware. This SC/ST/OBC counseling would enlighten the students about the various schemes. The Counselling would highlight the various aspects of Scholarship including eligibility criteria, amount of scholarship, procedure to apply, etc.  He said that Scholarship can be availed in  B.Tech, B.Tech (LEET), MBA, BBA, BCA, B.Ed, B.Com, B.A., Polytechnic, Nursing (GNM), +1, etc courses.

 It is to mentioned that Scholarship is awarded  to the students who have secured not less than 50% marks or equivalent grade in the previous final examination and the annual income of whose parents/guardian from all sources does not exceed Rs. 2.5 Lakh .Dr. Kataria said that the students coming under minority category in India like Sikhs, Muslims, Buddhists, Jainism and Parsi can avail the benefit of Ministry of Minority Affairs (MOMA) scholarship which is meant for the welfare and for financial assistance to brilliant students of minority class to obtain higher as well as professional qualification.He further said that above Post Matric Scholarship Scheme's main objective is to award scholarships to meritorious students belonging to economically weaker sections of minority community so as to provide them better opportunities for higher education increase their rate of attainment in higher education and enhance their employability.It’s worth mentioning that Central Govt. has budgeted an amount of  6500 crore to State Governments every year for scholarships to SC/ST/OBC students. But due to lack of information, students are not able to avail the benefits of these scholarships.
