As per the instructions of the Election Commission of India, the youth/persons who have attained the age of 18 years or above on 01.01.2024, to make them aware of how to cast their vote and exercise their right to vote, District Administration organized a Cyclothon Rally. This Cyclothon was flagged off by Deputy Commissioner-cum-District Election Officer Navjot Pal Singh Randhawa. Additional Deputy Commissioner (G) Rajeev Verma was also present with him on this occasion.

Deputy Commissioner-cum-District Election Officer Navjot Pal Singh Randhawa said that this cyclothon was organized by various school students to educate the general public about voting and using the right to vote. He said that those youths who have attained the age of 18 years or above on 01.01.2024 can cast their vote by filling Form No. 6. He said that as per the instructions of the Election Commission of India in the three assembly constituencies of District, Banga, Nawanshahr and Balachaur, the campaign for summery revision of voter list 2024 has started from October 27 and this campaign will continue till December 9, 2023. 

He said that voters who want to cancel their vote or that of any deceased person can fill Form No. 7 and similarly if they want to make any correction in their vote entries or change their vote in the same constituency, then They can submit their claim or objection by filling Form No.8. Deputy Commissioner-cum-District Election Officer Navjot Pal Singh Randhawa said that according to the instructions of the Chief Election Officer Punjab, special camps will be organized at the polling stations on Saturday and Sunday on November 4 and 5, 2023, December 2 and 3, 2023 and the same Booth Level Officers will sit at their respective booths from 10 am to 5 pm, any person can cast/cut and amend their votes on that day. 

He said that for the information of the general public, the voter list is available at each polling booth at the BLO, ERO of the respective polling station and will be available for viewing in the office of the District Election Officer. On this occasion, Additional Deputy Commissioner (J)-cum-Additional District Election Officer Rajiv Verma appealed to the youth, the work of revising the voter list 2024 has started and the youth who have reached the age of 18 years or more on 01.01.2024. 

Yes, they must fill Form No. 6 and vote through their BLOs. He said that the work of revising the voter list will continue till December 9, 2023. Apart from this, this voter list will also be available for viewing at www.ceopunjab.nic.in. Assistant Sweep Nodal Officer Satnam Singh, Election Kanungo Daljit Singh, Kulbir Singh Negi, Mahender Singh were present on this occasion.
