Municipal Council Zirakpur distributes Compost to residents

As per the directions of the Deputy Commissioner SAS Nagar, Mrs. Aashika Jain, efforts are being made for cleanliness from time to time under the Swachh Bharat Mission. Municipal Council Zirakpur sensitised the Resident Welfare Association of Royal Estate regarding the importance of Swachh Bharat Mission. Program Coordinator Sukhwinder Singh Deol appealed to the citizens to stop using single use plastic (plastic carry bags and plastic utensils) and distributed compost made from wet waste for pots and kitchen gardens. 

Apart from that, the method of making compost from wet waste and bails from dry waste was explained to the citizens. Program Coordinator Mr. Ravinder Singh Gill raised awareness about source segregation. Plan was also made for arranging the visit of the residents to the Municipal Council's processing site so that they can get complete information about waste management. He further requested people that cloth bags should be used so that Zirakpur can be made plastic free.

Resident Welfare Association President Mr. Harish Lamber from Royal Estate and association members Gaurav Singh, Ajay Gupta, Varinder Bhardwaj, Onkar Singh Saini, V. M. Anand, Karan, Raj Kumar Garg, Anil Gupta and sanitary inspector Mr. Ram Gopal, Amar, Manmandar, Bhupinder, Devinder and Sanjeev on behalf of the Municipal Council were present at the event.
