Sanitation cum Awareness Campaign Launched across Baramulla Distt

As part of ‘Swachhta Hi Seva Campaign 2023',  District Administration Baramulla today carried about 3000 activities meant to disseminate awareness about sanitation and its importance among the masses. At the outset, Secretary in Rural Development Department, Tariq Ahmad Zargar during his extensive tour to Baramulla launched a mega cleanliness drives in various Water Bodies at Takiya Tappar Baramulla. It is worth here to mention that Swachhata Hi Seva (SHS) campaign is a fortnight campaign launched on 15th September to 2nd October for undertaking sanitation and related activities aiming to generate jan andolan through community participation.

At District Headquarter Baramulla, the Additional District Development Commissioner Baramulla, Aijaz Abdullah Saraf in presence of Additional Deputy Commissioner Baramulla, Zahoor Ahmad Raina, Assistant Commissioner Revenue Baramulla, Peerzada Mumtaz Ahmad and other concerned led the cleanliness drive in the premises of DC Office to affirm the commitment of Garbage-free India. A spectacular Swacchta drive was also carried out at Government Medical College Baramulla wherein Medical Superintendent GMC Baramulla, Parvaiz Masoodi led the campaign in the premises of Institute.

Similarly, various stakeholders including PRIs, civil society members, prominent citizens among others, participated in cleanliness drives wherein several locations and places, having vital public significance were cleaned for larger public convenience. Meanwhile, the employees of Department of Information and Public Relations (DIPR) Baramulla with participation of CRPF Personals also conducted a Swacchta drive in its offices campus meant to disseminate awareness about sanitation and its importance among the masses. Similar Swachhta campaigns were also carried out at all the public institutions wherein the concerned heads led the cleanliness drive to observe the Swachhta Hi Sewa Campaign.
