Rupnagar Police solved the blind murder case within 72 hours which was reported on Goshala Road a few days ago. Addressing the press conference, S.S.P Rupnagar Vivek sheel Soni said that the district police received information on September 8, 2023 that the dead body of an unknown person was lying near Gaushala Road Rupnagar.

The police reached the spot and investigated the deceased who was identified as Dwarka Das alias Davinder son of Husan Chand resident of Adarsh Nagar, Rupnagar. Deceased was missing after 09:00 pm on the night of September 7. In connection with which Case No. 197, dated 08.09.2023 No. 302, 34 IPC was registered at Police Station City, Rupnagar.

S.S.P said that he had reached the spot and formed various police teams under the leadership of S.P. Navneet Singh Mahal, DSP (Investigation) Manveer Singh Bajwa, DSP-Sub Dubvision Tarlochan Singh, and Ins. Satnam Singh and S.H.O Pawan kumar Police Station, City Rupnagar. By forming separate special investigation teams, strict instructions were issued to trace the said murder case.

Viveksheel Soni said that the special police teams investigated various aspects using scientific and technical methods and after the investigation, the involvement of 03 persons in the murder has come to light. In which, the main accused Sunil Kumar and his son Shivam, resident of house number 21, village Shampura were arrested.

He said that during interrogation, the accused have confessed their crime. During the preliminary investigation, it has come to light that the deceased and the accused Sunil Kumar used to work in the same shop at DCM Cloth House Rupnagar and Sunil Kumar was felt jealous of the deceased for about 2 years as deceased had showcased his very false reputation in shop matters.

And he shared this issue with his son Shivam and (nephew who is a minor). After which they plotted to kill Dwarka Das alias Davinder and carried out the murder.The SSP said that the accused Sunil Kumar and his son Shivam have been arrested in the case, who will be produced in court today, from whom the motorcycle used in the incident and other items including weapons were recovered.
