Annual Machail Mata Yatra 2023: Grand Jagran organised at Gori Shankar Mandir on arrival of Pavitra Chari to Kishtwar

The spiritual fervor and devotion of the devotees reached an unprecedented height as the Pavitra Charri (Holy Mace) of Shree Chandi Maa for Annual Machail Yatra 2023 arrived in Kishtwar last evening.The atmosphere was filled with a symphony of bhajans and religious slogans, marking the auspicious occasion.

As the Pavitra Charri made its way through the Kishtwar town and finally halted at Shree Gori Shankar Mandir Sarkoot, the masses, Socio-religious  groups  and Administration accorded an enthusiastic reception to the Chari yatra.

Senior Civil & Police Administration functionaries including DC, Dr Devansh Yadav, SSP Kishtwar Khalil Ahmed Poswal, ADDC Sham Lal, ADC Inderjeet Singh Parihar, ASP Rajinder Singh, ACR Varunjeet Singh Charak, CEO KDA Dr Rishi Kumar Sharma besides other officers as well as thousands of devotees, both young and old, men and women, paid their respects to the holy Chari  by offering flowers and prayers.

The devotees collectively sought the blessings of Maa Chandi, beseeching for the well-being of their loved ones.A remarkable display of community spirit was witnessed, as various organizations and individuals united to provide free Langar (community meal) to the  yatries along the Yatra route.

The district administration, in a diligent effort, has meticulously orchestrated arrangements to ensure the comfort and security of the yatries. The arrangements encompassed boarding, lodging, water supply, electricity, medical facilities, and security provisions at key halting places enroute to the revered destination of Machail Paddar.

On the occasion, the devotees were deeply engrossed in the magnificent Jagran at Shree Gori Shankar Mandir Sarkoot Kishtwar.Over 10000 devotees participated in the jagran,  commemorating the momentous arrival of the Pavitra Chari. 

The event, orchestrated by District Administration Kishtwar in partnership with Kishtwar Development Authority, was graced with the bhajans  of renowned singer Naveed Punjabi.This morning the Chari Yatra commenced its journey from Kishtwar amid warm and grand see off, embarking on a transformative pilgrimage that will lead to its culminating stop at Machail on 22 August. 

Traditional halts at Atholi, Massu, and Chasoti will be observed during the procession, allowing devotees to partake in the spiritual energy and significance of these sites.On 23 August, a solemn ceremony comprising Havan and Jagrata will be performed at the sacred Shrine. 

This auspicious occasion holds immense reverence for devotees, marking a pinnacle moment of the  spiritual voyage. The Pavitra Charri will commence its return journey on 24 August, allowing devotees to bid farewell and carry the blessings of Maa Chandi with them.
