Tourism Summit to be held in Punjab soon: Anmol Gagan Maan

Tourism and Cultural Minister Anmol Gagan Maan today visited Dastan-e-Shahadat and reviewed the arrangements to increase the inflow of national and international tourists in Punjab and make historical places more attractive. Addressing the media on this occasion, the tourism minister said that this is happening for the first time that a tourism summit will be organized in Punjab, in which investors from the country and abroad will participate. 

State has a large number of historical places which have been neglected for a long time but now the Punjab government led by Chief Minister Punjab Bhagwant Singh Mann will promote to the whole world about the rich heritage of Punjab and the places associated with the greatness and martyrdom of Sikhism. With which a large number of tourists will definitely reach our state.

Cabinet minister said that the purpose of promoting tourism on a large scale by the Punjab government is to strengthen the economy of the state and further develop employment resources. Previous governments did not pay any special attention to this important sector but now our NRIs fraternity are working to increase the income of Punjab. 

And investors from across the country and world will be invited to promote tourism in Punjab. Talking about Dastan-e-Shahadat, she said that a large scale of cultural programs will be organized here soon so that this holy place can be completely dressed in religious colours.

Efforts will be made to attract youth and children from abroad to this historical place. She said that the precious history of Sikhism has been created at Sri Chamkaur Sahib where tourists from all over the world come to worship at this holy place. 

She said that it is our first responsibility that we can tell people all over the world about the uniqueness, unity, humanity, service spirit and other beautiful facts of our religion by promoting all the places associated with Sikhism.

On this occasion, Principal Secretary Tourism and Cultural Affairs Department Rakhi Gupta Bhandari, Director Tourism Amrit Singh, CEO Invest Punjab Kamal Kishore Yadav, Deputy Commissioner Rupnagar Dr. Preeti Yadav, SSP Mr. Vivek S Soni, SDM Mr. Dipankar Garg, DSP Jarnail Singh, Xen. Bhupinder Singh Chana, SDO Surinderpal Singh  and other senior officers were present.
