DLSA Distributes stationery to students in flood-affected areas

Following the directions of Hon'ble Justice Gurmeet Singh Sandhawalia, Executive Chairman Punjab State Legal Services Authority, SAS Nagar and Mr Manjinder Singh Hon'ble Member Secretary Punjab State Legal Services Authority, Mr Atul Kasana, Honorable District and Sessions Judge-cum-Chairman District Legal Services Authority Moga and Judicial Officers flagged off the vehicle loaded with collected funds/relief material to flood affected areas of district Moga.  

Later, Mr Atul Kasana Hon'ble District and Sessions Judge-cum-Chairman District Legal Services Authority, Moga and Mr Amrish Kumar CJM-cum-Secretary District Legal Services Authority, Moga personally visited the flood-affected areas falling under Tehsil Dharamkot and distributed stationery and other relief materials to the needy people.  

They visited Government High Smart School Rauwal, Melak Kang and Government Middle School Mandir Kalan and distributed school bags, copies, pens, pencils and other stationery to the children. On this occasion, Mr Atul Kasana said that such efforts are being made by the Punjab State Legal Services Authority to help the people.  

He said that under the 'Legal Services to Disaster Victims through Legal Services' scheme, Mr Amrish Kumar visited the flood victims at different times to take stock of them. Teams of panel lawyers and paralegal volunteers were sent to the flood-affected areas and the problems of the flood victims were heard and appropriate solutions were also provided.  

Apart from this, a helpline number 01636-235864 was also issued to help the flood victims. He said that any flood-affected person can contact DLSA through this telephone for any kind of help.

On this occasion, SDM Dharamkot Charumita, Deputy DEO Mr Gurdayal Singh, Mr Ramesh Dhingra Naib Tehsildar Dharamkot and police officers were also present.
