Punjab Rural Development Society draws up program of social welfare schemes for awareness

National Conference senior leader and former Speaker Mubarak Gul convened a high-level meeting of senior office bearers of Punjab Rural Development Society (NGO) at MLA Hostel in Srinagar on Saturday to outline the welfare and social activities of Punjab.

Issuing a press statement from the head office of Punjab Rural Development Society, Narinder Singh (MGA) President PRDS, stated that at the national level, non-governmental organizations are expressing concern due to the rapid use of drugs in Punjab which is a serious concern for our young generation.

Punjab Rural Development Society (NGO) has been formed on the pattern of Jammu Kashmir Rural Development Society under the leadership of Mubarak Gul, Chairman and former Speaker of Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly. 

Based on the (NGO) platform described above, the needy people will be helped and awareness will also be made about the social welfare schemes of the central and state governments so that the people of our state can take maximum benefit of the above schemes.

The sole purpose of establishing this (NGO) in Punjab is to provide maximum help to the people of our state and to make the common people aware of each and every scheme of the governments, “he added.

The Secretary General of PRDS, Damanjeet Singh, also informed that during the month of September, a social welfare program is being organized by our society in Amritsar. Former Chief Minister and Chief Patron of Jammu and Kashmir Rural Development Society Dr. Farooq Abdullah will be the chief guest on the occasion.

Apart from this, prominent personalities of Jammu and Kashmir including Chairman JKRDS, former Speaker Mubarak Gul and Raja Ghulam Nabi Wani will participate in the above programme.

The office bearers of the Punjab Rural Development Society, also informed that a massive anti-drug rally will be taken out from Amritsar to Srinagar as part of the campaign in which people from different corners of the country will participate.
