Deputy Commissioner Jitendra Jorwal reviews ongoing special Girdavari process in flood affected villages of Sangrur

Interacts with people in the villages and instructs revenue department staff to complete the Girdavari process by August 15

Deputy Commissioner Sangrur Jitendra Jorwal today visited the flood-affected villages of Moonak and Khanauri and inspected the ongoing works of Special Girdavari there. Deputy Commissioner Jitendra Jorwal said that as per the guidelines of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, the Girdavari work should be completed before August 15 and any negligence in this work will not be tolerated. 

Meanwhile, he also interacted with the residents of the villages and assured them that the district administration has firmly been standing with the people and adequate compensation will be provided by conducting a timely inspection in a transparent manner. During his visit to the villages, the Deputy Commissioner ordered the concerned officers and employees of the Revenue Department to strictly follow the instructions issued by the government.

Deputy Commissioner also made the farmers aware about the availability of paddy nursery and said that extensive arrangements have been made by the Agriculture Department to provide free nursery to the farmers of flood affected villages. He said that the government was fully committed to compensate the loss caused to the people due to floods and the girdavari report will be sent to the government within the specified time frame so that the affected people can get timely compensation. 

He said that he has been taking stock of the Girdavari operations from the officials on a daily basis and to inspect the progress made so far, the villages and other affected areas have been visited today. On this occasion, SDM Moonak Suba Singh was also with him.
