Bhagwant Mann Government Committed to Compensate the loss of farmers caused by floods, says Gurmeet Singh Khuddian

Says, Let the Government of India Stands by distressed farmers of Punjab to revive the flooded agrarian economy

Taking stock of the flood affected agriculture land of the Ghaggar Belt of Derabassi, Agriculture and Farmers Welfare and Animal Husbandry, Minister, Punjab, Gurmeet Singh Khuddian reiterated the commitment of Bhagwant Mann Government to Compensate the loss of farmers in the coming days by assessing the loss. 

He was visiting the villages Dehrr, Alamgir, Tiwana, Amlala, Khajur Mandi and Sadhapur along with MLA Derabassi, Kuljit Singh Randhawa today, evening. He further said, let the Government of India come forward to Standby Punjab's distressed farmers to revive the flooded agrarian economy by adding that the Punjab farmers have contributed to the Nation to become independent in production of food grains by leading  Green Revolution besides their wards manning the boundaries of the country. 

He said this is the right time to help the farmers to recover them from the huge loss of crops. The cabinet minister said that Punjab has to stand on its feet again to contribute to the progress of the country. 

The loss occurred due to the floods cannot be compensated with the meager amount of  Rs 218 Crore. He reiterated that the Punjab government led by CM Bhagwant Mann will assess the loss and provide due compensation to the affected people of the state.

Visiting the  fields damaged on a large scale due to the flood's fury and taking stock of the loss,  Khuddian said that the once very fertile land is now looking like a desert and uneven heaps of soil. He said that this loss is being estimated by the government and all possible help will be provided.  

He said that the previous governments did not do concrete planning and sincere efforts to strengthen the banks of Ghaggar to save the residents from huge loss but the Bhagwant Mann Government would take it seriously to not let it happen again.

He said Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has been visiting the flood affected people and areas at the ground level since day one.  He said that the Punjab government will make such arrangements in future that people will not have to see such unfortunate days again. 

He said that in this time of distress, the people of Punjab have left no stone unturned in supporting each other. Khuddian said that in the coming days, the people from the villages where no flood like situation arise, will also reach the affected villages to fix the odd even lands.

The Minister of Agriculture said that for the protection of the borders, the freedom of the country and the self-reliance of the country, the Punjabis have faced all the difficulties in their village and today when Punjab is hit by nature, the whole country should stand with Punjab.

MLA  Derabassi, Kuljit Singh Randhawa appealed to the Cabinet Minister that his constituency has marched ahead after so many difficulties but now again the fury on Nature has hit them badly. He appealed to the Agriculture Minister to bail out the disappointed residents by helping as much as possible.

SDM Derabassi Himanshu Gupta, ASP Darpan Ahluwalia and Chief Agriculture Officer Gurmail Singh were among the Officials of various departments besides the locals present there.
