SKUAST-Jammu conducts awareness programme on “Career opportunities for Veterinary graduates”

Under able guidance and leadership of Dr. B.N. Tripathi, Vice-Chancellor, SKUAST-Jammu, a one day awareness programme on “Career opportunities for Veterinary graduates in Indian Army and other Sectors” under NAHEP-IDP, SKUAST-Jammu conducted by Counselling and Placement Cell, SKUAST-Jammu at Faculty of Veterinary Sciences and Animal Husbandry, R.S. Pura campus. 

The event was held  to provide an opportunity to the upcoming veterinary graduates to discuss and exchange ideas/knowledge/experiences with the experts/resource persons and to give exposure to them on scope and opportunities for their career in the Indian Army with special reference to the Remount Veterinary Corps and other sectors.

Dr. M. S. Bhadwal, Dean, Faculty of Veterinary Sciences & A.H., SKUAST-Jammu was the chief guest on the occasion and he inaugurated the programme in presence of Faculty members, experts and students.  

Dr. Bhadwal congratulated the University Placement Cell for organising the one day awareness programme for Vet Graduates  as such programme will motivate the students to pursue career in Indian Army as an Officer and also  a  vet graduate can contribute much more to the society by becoming a civil servant,  while Prof. Sanjay Gularia, I/c, Counselling and Placement cell, SKUAST-J gave an overall picture of various activities undertaken in SKUAST-Jammu under Counselling and Placement Cell with an objective to create awareness in regard to different avenues for their placements.

During the programme, Lt. Col. (Dr) Sudhir Karnal Sharma, Instructor, Dog Training Faculty, RVC Center and College, Meerut Cantt. (UP) delivered a lecture on “Scopes and career opportunities of Veterinary graduates in Indian Army with special reference to Remount Veterinary Corps (RVC) while Dr. Nikhil Gogna, JKPS, SDPO, R. S. Pura delivered a lecture on “Scopes and career opportunities of veterinary graduates in Civil Services”.

At the outset, Dr. Kamal Sarma, I/c Head, Division of Veterinary Extension Education and Liaison Officer, Counselling and Placement Cell, Faculty of Veterinary Sciences & A.H, who is also the coordinator of the programme, heartily welcomed the Chief Guest and other dignitaries as well as the speakers of the programme. 

He gave the detailed information of one day the awareness programme. Dr. Jonali Devi, Co-Coordinator of the programme presented the vote of thanks.
