Himachal delegation visits Andhra Med Tech Zone at Vizag

A delegation of State Government led by Industries Minister, Harshwardhan Chauhan visited Andhra Med Tech Zone (AMTZ), globally largest medical devices cluster at Vizag in Andhra Pradesh.

The basic objective of the visit was to understand operational dynamics of facilities. The delegation visited the Common Scientific facilities such as Gamma Radiation Centre, Biocompatible Centre, 3D design and printing lab.

Harshwardhan Chauhan shared brief contours of the upcoming medical device park at Nalagarh in district Solan with the AMTZ team. He informed that state government under the leadership of Chief Minister, Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu is committed to enhance the tempo of industrialization as well as implement the upcoming medical device park.

The industries Minister also apprised that tenders for four medical labs stand invited and first phase of cutting & levelling of Medical device Park, Nalagarh is completed. State government has also provided its share to the state implementing agency.

CEO of AMTZ Dr. Jitendar Sharma briefed on the broad contours of the Park, which is spread over 270 acres and set up in 2016. He shared that presently more than 120 units are operational in the Park, manufacturing around 5000 medical devices. He further shared that output amounting Rs. 9000 crore per annum is being made in this park.

Harshwardhan Chauhan invited Dr. Jitendar Sharma to Himachal Pradesh for knowledge sharing & further deliberations. He also asked Principal Secretary Industries, R.D. Nazeem to explore the possibility of taking technical services from AMTZ.

MLA Dharampur, Chander Shekhar, Managing Director-cum-CEO HPBDPIL, Rakesh Kumar Prajapati, Chief Engineer Jal Shakti Vibhag Hamirpur, Vijay Kumar Dhatwalia and other senior officials were also present on the occasion.
