Diljit Dosanjh’s Upcoming Film On Jaswant Singh Khalra Experiences 21 Cuts With ‘A’ Certification By CBFC

The most loved and celebrated Global star, actor and singer, Diljit Dosanjh is soon coming with another biopic on Jaswant Singh Khalra tentatively titled as Ghallughara. The film has been in the pipeline for a long time now and was experiencing approval delays from the Central Board Of Film Certification from the past 7 months as of now.

As per the recent reports, the Central Board has ordered 21 cuts to the film while granting it ‘A’ Certification to it. The makers were waiting for the past 7 months to get a release clearance from the Central Board even after submitting all the necessary paperwork requested and got no results after which they approached the Bombay High Court and now they have got approval but with 21 cuts. 

They have also appealed before the court under Section 5C of the Cinematograph Act for facing cuts. The matter will be next heard on 14 July 2023 before Hon’ble Justice RI Chagla at 2:30 pm.

Speaking about Jaswant Singh Khalra, he was Sikh human rights activist in the 1990s, who brought the light upon the illegal abduction, elimination and cremation of thousands of unidentified people by the police which was later also concluded true by CBI accusing Punjab police for cremating 2097 people in the Tarn Taran district of Punjab.

The film is directed by Honey Trehan and is a creation from the makers of superhit real life based films including Uri: The Surgical Strike, Rashmi Rocket and more to name. Arjun Rampal is also expected to be seen in the film alongwith Diljit Dosanjh. Now, all eyes are on further updates of the film, what turns it takes to get final clearance before the release.
