DDC Kupwara Ayushi Sudan chairs mega Block Diwas at Chandigam-Lolab

Emphasises on working with a collective approach for overall development

The District Development Commissioner (DDC) Kupwara, Ayushi Sudan today chaired mega Block Diwas function held at Chandigam Sogam in Lolab sub division of Kupwara district to listen to the issues and grievances of the general public at their doorsteps. 

 DDC Member Sogam, Nasir Lone; JD Planning, SDM Lolab, ACD, CMO, CAO, LDM, AD Food, AD Fisheries, DSWO, BMO, CDPO, Engineers from Jal Shakti, PDD, R&B, besides, BDC Chairperson, PRIs and people in large number attended the block diwas function.

Addressing the function, the District Development Commissioner said that the aim of holding the block diwas in Sogam block was to know the issues and grievances of the people for redressal.   Referring to the development, the DDC said that it is a continuous process which takes time and urged PRIs and general public for their cooperation in giving proper way for the development in Lolab sub division. 

She assured the people for fulfilling gaps regarding infrastructure development across the district subject to availability of resources and emphasised on the need to work through a collective approach for overall development of the district. 

While referring to Tourism development, the DDC said that tourism is a big employment generation sector adding that soon a tourism plan will be charted out in the coming days for development of tourist destinations of the district especially Lolab valley and Bangus. 

She thanked the people for offering her a warm welcome. The DDC Kupwara wished a happy and peaceful Eid-ul-Adha to the people. 

Earlier, PRIs including DDC Member Sogam, local Sarpanchs and senior citizens spoke and raised the developmental issues of the area. The issues raised include macadamization of inner roads of the Lolab sub division including Tangcheck, Daramwari, Batnard, Gratnard etc; upgradation of water supply schemes and healthcare facilities were also demanded.

The DDC heard their issues patiently and directed the concerned officers to ensure that all genuine issues are timely resolved.  Later, the DDC distributed Golden Cards and e-Sharm Cards among the beneficiaries.
