DC Shopian Faz Lul Haseeb reviews Eid-ul-Adha arrangements

Stresses for conducting intensive market checking; making adequate availability of essentials, sacrificial animals

The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Shopian, Faz Lul Haseeb today convened a meeting of concerned District officers to review the arrangements for the upcoming festival of Eid-ul-Adha.The DC on the occasion passed directions to officers to intensify the market checking by making tehsil wise teams and ensuring all commodities are sold at already fixed prices, besides ensuring availability of all essential supplies in the market to avoid hoardings and profiteering.

He directed the MC authorities to ensure proper fumigation, sanitation and cleanliness at all the places including Eid-Gahs, Masjids and across the district.The DC also directed for setting up of sale outlets (Mandis) for sale of sacrificial animals (Goats/Sheeps) at Shopian, Keller, Zainapora and Imam Sahib areas of the district.

It was also directed that teams of the Veterinary department be kept at these Mandis. The Animal Husbandry Department was directed to establish health camps at the Mandis for screening of animals.The Fisheries Department was also directed to make the availability of Fish sale on the eve of Eid festival.

During the meeting, the DC urged Sectoral officers of Jal Shakti and PDD to ensure uninterrupted supply of water and electricity barring curtailment schedule to the district.The DC instructed the tehsildars to activate its market surveillance Squads to check the quality of food items such as Bakery, Confectionery, Milk, Meat Chicken, Vegetables and other essentials in the market and take action against the earring traders.

On the occasion, the traffic, police authorities were instructed to ensure smooth movement of traffic especially in the town.Among others, SDM Zainapora, Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Assistant Commissioner Development, CAHO, DIO, AD Fisheries, AD FCS&CA, CAHO, DSHO, Tehsildars and other concerned were present.
