Poonch-Rajouri region, PoK refugees ignored in budget: PDP

General secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Yash Pal Sharma, MLC today regretted that twin border districts of Poonch and Rajouri have been ignored in budget presented by Union Finance Minister,  Arun Jaitely on Thurday.According to a statement issued to KNS, while addressing a meeting of party workers here today,  Sharma hailed decision of establishing IIT at Jammu and announcement of  Rs 500 crore package for Kashmir migrants. 

He, however, regretted that nothing has been announced for mountainous and backward districts of Poonch  and Rajouri. He said that people of Poonch and Rajouri were expecting that Union Government would announce some projects for the socio-economic growth of this mountainous region but residents of Poonch-Rajouri were dejected.While hailing package announced for Kashmiri Pandit,  Sharma regretted that nothing has been announced for the PoK refugees. He reminded that during the Lok Sabha polls, BJP had promised to solve problems of PoK refugees but in the budget no proposal has been made to fulfill their demands. (KNS)
