Commissioner Secretary Sheikh Fayaz Ahmad inaugurates children playing, gym equipments at Veer Bhoomi Park, Samba

Commissioner Secretary Floriculture, Parks and Gardens, Sheikh Fayaz Ahmad, today inaugurated children playing equipments and gym equipments installed at Veer Bhoomi Park, Samba.Director General, Floriculture, Parks and Gardens Jammu, S. Jatinder Singh was also present on the occasion.

Different types of Children Playing Equipments have been installed in the park such as Slider, Swings and Rolling cap.While addressing the gathering, Commissioner Secretary informed that new Children Playing Equipments are in the process of installation at 20 different Parks and Gardens of Jammu Province at an estimated cost of Rs. 80.00 Lakh in two phases. 

He appealed the general public to cooperate with the department in keeping the parks and gardens neat, clean and green.On the occasion, the Committee of War Memorial Veer Bhoomi Park, Samba, comprising Dr. Jagdeep Singh, Retired Professor Education Department, Shiv Charan Singh, Retired Zonal Education Officer, Captain Inder Singh, President Rajput Sabha, Samba and President of Voice of Ex-Servicemen District Samba submitted a memorandum regarding further development of the Park to the Commissioner Secretary.

Commissioner assured the Committee members that all their genuine demands will be considered and action shall be taken on each of them in a time bound manner.Director Finance Floriculture, Hemkant Prashar, Executive Engineer Floriculture, D. K. Kaith, Deputy Director Planning, Priti Aggarwal, Floriculture Officer Jammu, Sunil Singh, PRI members, other officers of the department were also present.

Later, Commissioner Secretary also chaired a meeting to review functioning of Floriculture Department. Director General, Floriculture, Parks and Gardens Jammu presented the details of different projects to be completed in the current financial year along with the progress achieved for each project. He further informed that an amount of Rs. 14.30 crore has been earmarked under CAPEX for various developmental activities of the Department in Jammu region.
