A number of measures are being taken to ensure the security of defence establishments all over the country. Security personnel from the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), Defence Security Corps (DSC), Guards, Civilian Security Staff, experienced ex-service personnel, private security agencies etc. are employed for security of defence establishments such as Defence Public Sector Undertakings, Ordnance Factories, DRDO establishments, buildings / offices etc. including defence establishments located in Tamil Nadu. Further, close circuit TV, access control systems, surveillance systems X-Ray baggage scanners, under vehicle scanning systems etc. are also being used for the security of defence establishments. Review of counter sabotage measures is undertaken regularly, based on the security threats and intelligence inputs received from various agencies. Based on these reviews, upgradation of counter sabotage measures in terms of technology and manpower is carried out. Rehearsals and inspection to validate the existing counter sabotage measures are also carried out regularly. This information was given by Defence Minister Shri Arun Jaitley in a written reply to Dr. M. Thambi Durai in Lok Sabha today.
