9 years of Modi Govt happening for Panchayati Raj in JK: DDC Vice Chairperson Udhampur

Juhi Manhas Pathania, Vice Chairperson District Development Commissioner Udhampur today said that there was a sea of change in the very realm, perspective and perception of Panchayati Raj in J&K in 9 years of PM Shri Narendra Modi’s Government .She was addressing an interaction meeting with PRIs in Block Khoon of Tehsil Majalta.

Empowerment of the people till the grassroots level has been the hallmark of the Modi Sarkar which was achieved by introduction of various innovations, techniques and empowerment measures, she said. 

She further noted that the elected PRIs have been involved in the process of decision making in almost all the spheres of governance concerning aam aadmi and more so the center in focus of Panchayati Raj is the Gram Sabha.The concept of achieving rapport with the last man in the last row has been achieved by metamorphosing the very concept and idea of Panchayati Raj in J&K.

Meanwhile, a variety of issues were projected by the PRIs of tehsil Majalta. They demanded expediting the JJM works, early installation of transformers under PMDP at Sen, Nardi, Samaga, Batata and under B2V at Thalora, Kagote and especially in SC Basti Khoon.

They further demanded release of pending payments for the works done under the bad pocket initiative done in Dudu Basantgarh area and upper areas of Khoon Block.The People further expressed concern over delay in the start of the linkage project of Manwal Pinger road. 

The said road stops almost 3 KM short from the holy shrine of Sri Pingla mata. People also vouched for forest clearance for Thial to Chountra Mata road.Issues of Sehal to Lyani road, Chore Motu to Jofar road via Soan, lack of water connectivity in Soan, chore mottu and Garh Samnabanj areas, provision of Mobile connectivity towers in Mottu, Chore-Panjian, G.S.Banj and S.K.Bair were also raised.

Mrs Pathania ensured the PRIs of taking up these issues with the administration for their quick resolution so that the developmental activities can accelerate in the area.The Vice Chairperson also took review of the ongoing Special camps for registration of beneficiaries under AWAS Plus. 

She asked the PRIs and the officials of Department of Rural Development to ensure complete transparency in registration of beneficiaries under the scheme so that all deserving can reap the benefits of this welfare scheme which was started with the vision of 'Housing for all’.

The proceedings were piloted by the BDO Majalta/Khoon Mr. Vishal Sadhotra. Prominent among those who remain present include Sarpanch Mr. Ramesh Chander Gupta, Sarpanch Mohal Lal Sharma, Sarpanch Raman Khajuria, Sarpanch Chain Singh, Sarpanch Surinder Kumar, Sarpanch Feroz Din, Naib Sarpanch Nimrata Bali, Naib Sarpanch Tirth Ram, Naib Sarpanch Charan Dass and various other PRI members of Tehsil Majalta.
