DC Kathua Rakesh Minhas presides over Block Diwas in border block Marheen

As part of weekly Block Diwas initiative of the government, Deputy Commissioner, Kathua Rakesh Minhas today presided over a public outreach programme here at Village Gujjar Chak, Manyari in border block Marheen.The stakeholders, including PRIs and civil society members of the area attended the programme in large numbers and projected various demands, requirements and issues of public importance.

The delegations from different areas put forth their issues and grievances and saought up-gradation of Government Primary School Pansar, construction of remaining border bunkers,   access to mechanism for farmers having land near zero line, filling of vacant posts of JEs in PWD department, solar pump scheme for border dwellers, up-gradation of transformer in Hariachack, redevelopment of water station at ward no 1, Chandwal, special recruitment drive for border areas and other issues of public importance.

The DC gave a patient hearing to all the demands and grievances and assured that all issues shall be taken with the concerned authorities for their timely redressal.While interacting with the public, the DC urged upon them to play an active part in the development process so that inclusive and public oriented projects and schemes are framed in larger public interest.

The DC also assured PRIs and others that the issues and demands that they have put forth and registered will be seriously looked into.Moreover, the DC also gave on spot directions for redressal of many issues.

While interacting with the public, the DC assured that district administration along with PRIs will make a holistic development plan to look after the aspirations of the people of border areas. He directed CEO Kathua to make a plan for augmentation of infrastructure in all schools especially in border areas.

The DC also directed XEN PDD to expedite the ongoing works of Receiving Station Chakra which will improve the electricity scenario in border villages of Marheen block.On the issue of access to the farmers having land near zero line, the DC assured that the matter will be taken up with BSF authorities for an amicable solution to the farmers who want to visit and bring cultivation in their land.   

On the occasion, the DC inspected the stalls installed by different departments exhibiting their schemes and programmes.  Similarly, Block Diwas proceeding was also held at Basohli and Billawar sub divisions.
