Mega Yoga Session organised in GHSS Ramban

A Mega Yoga session was organized by the AYUSH department   in collaboration with district administration Ramban here at Government Higher Secondary School.This programme was organized as a prelude to or preparation for International Yoga Day which will be held on June 21 and to sensitize the public about the importance of Yoga in daily life.

The Deputy Commissioner, Ramban Mussarat Islam was the chief guest in presence of the guest of honour President, Municipal Council, Ramban, Sunita Sumbria.The Programme was organized under the supervision of District Nodal Officer, AYUSH and District Coordinator Yoga, Dr.Masood Iqbal Zargar. 

Besides students, many district Officers and officials from departments of Poshan ICDS, Health, School Education, Social Welfare, Youth Services & Sports besides students participated in the Yoga session and did various Yoga exercises.

Trained yoga instructors from Ayush presented demonstrations of common yoga asanas and pranayamas which can prevent various lifestyle disorders.Stressing on the need of adopting yoga as a daily routine to keep body and mind fit, the Deputy Commissioner said that yoga has revolutionized health management across the world.

He said that yoga is universally acknowledged as the best treatment for all diseases, and if practiced regularly it eradicates mental stress and keeps the body, mind and intellect fit. The DC advised the students to focus on their studies besides taking part in extra-curricular activities for their personality development. 

He also sensitized the people especially youth folk and asked them to keep away from drug abuse besides suggesting various measures for drug de-addiction to save their lives. Speaking on the occasion Dr. Masood emphasized the role of yoga in achieving physical, mental, and spiritual well-being, and its ability to foster a balanced attitude towards everyday life to enhance skill and performance.

He informed that the AYUSH department will organize various activities before the 9th International Day of Yoga.
