Haryana Home Minister, Anil Vij today directed the police officers in a stern tone that clarification should be taken from those officers/IOs who have FIR investigation cases pending for more than one year. 

Strict action will be taken against those officers/IOs who do not get satisfactory reply in this regard, he asserted.Sh. Vij was presiding over a review meeting regarding law and order with senior officers of Police Department here today.

He said that 3229 cases are pending in the state for more than one year. Giving district-wise details, he said that 77 in Ambala, 45 in Bhiwani, 13 in Charkhi-Dadri, 140 in Faridabad, 54 in Fatehabad, one in GRP Ambala Cantt, 981 in Gurugram, 27 in Hansi, 106 in Hisar, 132 in Jhajjar, 62 in Jind, 39 om Kaithal, 100 in Karnal, 94 in Kurukshetra, 38 in Mahendergarh, 165 in Nuh, 292 in Palwal, 114 in Panchkula, 37 in Panipat, 98 in Rewari, 151 in Rohtak, 177 in  Sirsa, 83 in Sonepat and 203 in Yamuna Nagar cases are pending for more than one year. Apart from this, he directed that if more than 10 criminal cases are registered against any person, then their list should also be prepared and made available to him.

Rules will be framed for immigration agencies – Vij

Sh. Vij said that SIT has been formed to deal with the cases of immigration fraudsters in the state, on which the Home Minister was informed that on April 17, the newly formed SIT had received 332 pending cases from the previous SIT while 68 cases are now newly registered. 

It was informed in the meeting that the SIT has so far succeeded in arresting 5 persons. Apart from this, nodal officers have also been appointed in each district to strengthen the working of SIT. In the meeting, Sh. Vij directed the officers to frame rules within 15 days for immigration agencies. Due to this, people will not get trapped, he said.

Haryana is leading in attaching property

The Home Minister said that Narcotics Bureau have been formed in the state to keep the youth away from drug addiction. He directed that the Narcotics Bureau should work till the dead end to stop the supply of drugs and by setting a target, arrest the people involved in drug peddling. 

He said that bulldozers were first launched in Ambala on the property of people involved in drug peddling and this campaign will be continued further. It was apprised in the meeting that properties worth Rs 40 crore have been seized so far. 

Apart from this, the Home Minister also directed the officers to use modern technology and equipment to arrest such criminals. It was informed in the meeting that till now Haryana is leading in attaching properties.

IT experts will be deputed in 29 cyber police stations of the state- Vij

Similarly, IT experts will be deputed in 29 cyber police stations of the state to prevent cyber-crime. Apart from this, IT-related training will also be imparted to the police personnel. It was informed in the meeting that 764 cases of cyber-crime have been registered. Directing the police officers, he said that artificial intelligence etc. techniques should be used to curb cyber-crime.

CCTV cameras will be installed on NH and SH, CCTV cameras will be installed in police stations by June 15- Vij

Directing the police officers, Sh. Vij said that a proposal should be sent to the government to complete the installation of CCTV cameras on National Highways and State Highways of the state at the earliest. 

It was informed in the meeting that about 75 percent work of installing CCTV cameras in police stations has been completed and it will be completed by June 15, 2023. In addition, lane driving and traffic signal boards should also be installed. Sh. Vij directed the officers to make the forensic laboratory state-of-the-art so that the cases related to forensics could be disposed of at the earliest.

Send proposal of new buildings for police stations running in old and rented buildings to the government- Vij

He directed the police officers to provide detailed information about police stations running in dilapidated and old buildings and rented houses and said that proposals for construction of new buildings for these police stations should be sent to the government. 

On this, it was informed that at present a proposal has been sent to the government to construct 35 new police stations. He said that along with the expansion of cities, rezoning of police stations should be done, on which the officers informed that mapping of police stations is being carried out. 

Apart from this, he also gave directions to the police officers regarding making temporary police posts permanent, holding public-police meeting every month, Haryana Police Rules, auction of old seized vehicles in police stations, illegal weapons, crime against women etc.

Police personnel will get food during outdoor duty; proposal will be sent to the government- Vij

Apart from this, he also directed the officers to deploy chowkidar and Cookman in police stations. At the same time, he also gave directions regarding the arrangement of food for the police personnel who give duty on the road, on which it was informed in the meeting that a proposal of about four crores’ rupees has been prepared for this arrangement, which will be sent to the government soon. 

Similarly, directions were also given to speed up the work of converting arms license into smart card. He directed to set up monitoring cell regarding women crime cases and depute headquarters level officers for regular checking of police stations in the state. 

Similarly, it was informed in the meeting that continuous campaign should be launched for regular checking of hotels, guest houses and dharamshalas as immoral activities are increasing in such places.

Praised police functioning

Praising the functioning of the police, he said that the police has successfully carried out Operation Muskaan, inspecting hookah bars and arresting the criminals involved in cyber fraud, which is a commendable work.

On this occasion, Additional Chief Secretary, Home Department, Sh. TVSN Prasad, Director General of Police, Sh. P.K. Aggarwal, Secretary Home Department Sh. Mahavir Kaushik, Additional Director General of Police Smt. Mamta Singh, Amitabh Dhillon, Commissioner of Police Panchkula Sanjay Singh, IG Ambala Sibash Kaviraj and other senior officers were present.
