On World Red Cross Day, Motorized tricycles provide to 60 physically challenged persons at a cost of Rs.25 lacs

Keeping in view of World Red Cross Day, Motorized tricycles have been provided to 60 needy physically challenged persons at a cost of Rs.25.20 lacs. While speaking on the occasion, Deputy Commissioner Dr. Preeti Yadav said that following the footsteps of Bhai Ghanaiya ji who served his whole life in the service of humanity, we should keep ourselves selfless and contribute for noble works in public interest. 

Taking inspiration from Bhai Ghanaiya ji, motorized tricycles and other essential items have been provided to the needy physically challenged people so that their daily life can be made easier. On this occasion, the Deputy Commissioner hoisted the Red Cross flag and paid homage to Sir Jean Henry Dunant and Bhai Ghanaiya ji and a sapling was also planted at the Red Cross office.

Apart from this, a special program was organized at Raj Bhawan, Chandigarh in collaboration with the State Red Cross. In this program, sewing machines were provided to 10 women belonging to District Rupnagar and motorized tricycles to 10 needy persons.

On this occasion, various public welfare programs were organized by District Red Cross Rupnagar under the leadership of Deputy Commissioner Dr. Preeti Yadav.
