Government Polytechnic College, Patiala hosts State Level Tech Fest to showcase cutting-edge innovations

Today on 05/05/2023 State Level Inter Polytechnic Tech Fest was successfully organized at Government Polytechnic College, Patiala with the support of Punjab Technical Institutions Sports (PTIS). The aim of this tech fest is to encourage innovative spirit among students and provide them an opportunity to showcase their technical skills. 

PTIS organises various sports, academic and cultural activities every year to encourage the students. Smt. Seema Jain (IAS), Additional Chief Secretary, Department of Technical Education and Industrial Training, Punjab graced the occasion as Chief Guest. Principal Ravinder Singh Hundal welcomed all the guests, students and representatives of various institutions.

The chief guest Smt. Seema Jain (IAS) congratulated the principal on conversion of college into co-education from this year and said that now boys will also be able to take advantage of the various scholarship schemes of the Punjab government. She said that such events provide a platform for polytechnic students to showcase their technical prowess and create awareness about the latest research and inventions.

In this Tech Fest, Paper Presentation and Project Display Competition were held in the subjects of  Comp.Science,I.T., Electronics and Communication Engg.,Mechanical Engg, Civil Engg, Textiles/Fashion Design in which more than 500 students from various polytechnic college of Punjab participated.Experts in related field from various universities and college presided as judges.

In the Paper Presentation competition , Mehr Chand Polytechnic College, Jalandhar bagged the first prize in comp Science/IT trade, Mehr Chand Polytechnic College, Jalandhar got the first prize in ECE subject,Government Polytechnic College, Talwara got the first prize in Electrical Engg. Subject, Mehr Chand Polytechnic College, Jalandhar got the first prize in Mechanical Engg subject, Government Polytechnic College, Patiala secured the first prize in Civil Engg. subject .Government Institute of Grament Technology , Amritsar got the first prize in Textile/Fashion Design subject.

In Pharmacy/MLT subject, Government Polytechnic College, Patiala achieved the first position.Government Polytechnic College, Ludhiana got the first prize in MOP/Library Science subject.In Applied Science subject, Mehr Chand Polytechnic College, Jalandhar secured the first position.Consolation prizes were also awarded in Plastic technology and other trades.MOP/Library Science. 

The overall tophy was won by Mehr Chand Polytechnic College, Jalandhar.Medals and certificated were distributed to the winning students by the chief guest and cash prizes were also given to the winners by the Punjab Technical Education Board.The PTIS President Principal Parambir Singh Mattewal congratulated the winners and proposed vote of thanks.The stage was managed by Prof.Narinder Singh Dhindsa and Jaspreet Singh.

On the occasion Mohanbir Singh Sidhu, Additional Director of Technical Education Department(Patron P.T.I.S), PTIS Organizing Secretary Yashpal Singh Pathania and Joint Secretary Ram Sarup were present. Principal from various Government Polytechnic Colleges Principal Rajiv Puri, Principal Yadvinder Singh, Principal Rachna Kaur, Principal Jagdev Singh Kaleka, Principal Sandeep Singla, Principal Raj Kumar Chopra, Principal Daljinder Singh, Principal Harjinder Singh, Principal Suresh Kumar, Principal Monica Bansal, Anuja Pupneja, Principal Dr. Balkar Singh, Principal Kulwinder Singh Bedi, Principal Balwinder Singh, Principal Prenuka Jindal, Principal Kanwaldeep Kaur ,Deputy Director  Technical Education Department Principal Manoj Jambla, Deputy Director Navdeep Singh and other DTE officials along with other officials of the Education Department and other personalities related to social welfare also attended the function.
