Acceding to the demand of the Baazigar and Taprivas communities, the Punjab Chief MinisterParkash Singh Badal today gave his nod to construct a Bhawan after the name of legendary Sikh martyr Bhai Mani Singh.A decision to this effect was taken by the Chief Minister in a meeting with the delegation of Punjab Baazigar Front, who called on him today morning at CMO, under its President Jathedar Labh Singh Devinagar.The Chief Minister directed the Secretary Social Welfare to co-ordinate with the Greater Mohali Area Development Authority (GMADA) for selecting a suitable site to construct this Bhawan. He also asked the officer to complete the necessary formalities in this regard at the earliest so that work on this project could begin soon.The Chief Minister also announced to reconstitute the board for the Baazigar and Taprivas communities so as to further ensure welfare of these communities. He said that while reconstituting the board, all the aspects like its aim and ambit would be defined. Mr. Badal also said that this Board would act as an Advisory Board to the state government for ensuring the overall development of these communities. 

Referring to the demand raised by these communities to include them in the list of Schedule Tribes, the Chief Minister said that the state government has already sent the case regarding it to the Union government adding that he would personally take up this matter with the Centre for its immediate resolution.The Chief Minister, while reiterating the firm commitment of the state government to ensure all-round development of these communities, said that no stone would be left unturned for their well being. He said that the SAD-BJP government was fully committed for the development of the weaker sections of the society.The delegation expressed gratitude to the Chief Minister for patiently hearing them and resolving them their demands.Prominent amongst those present in the meeting included Cabinet Minister Gulzar Singh Ranike, Secretary Social Welfare Seema Jain, Special Principal Secretaries to Chief Minister KJS Cheema and Ajoy Kumar Sharma and Director Social Welfare Paramjeet Singh.
