Free medical camp by RBU in collaboration with Bahra Hospital, Bahra Hospital

A team of doctors, faculty and students of University School of Allied Health Sciences of Rayat Bahra University, in collaboration with Bahra Hospital, Mohali and Brahma Kumari Ashram, held a health checkup camp at Brahma Kumari Ashram at village Kaimbwala.

Medical check-up included physiotherapy, laboratory investigation and optometry services on a first come first served basis, free of cost.Jaswinder Kaur, Councillor, village Kaimbwala, inaugurated the health camp. 

Dr Sarabdeep, Medical Officer, PHC Dispensary, Kaimbwala, Prof Lalit K Gupta, HoD RIT, and Dr Pankaj Kaul, Dean, Allied Health Sciences, were also present on the occasion.Meanwhile, the University School of Allied Health Sciences organized a talk on Laboratory Quality Management System (LQMS) by Kamal Dua, Senior Specialist Excellence and Valumatrix (Automation).

Dua gave valuable insights and perspectives in medical laboratory sciences and had an interactive session with the students. Prof Lalit K Gupta, Head of the RIT and USAHS faculty members were present on the occasion.

Pervinder Sahota, Assistant Professor in Clinical Biochemistry, delivered the keynote address in the scientific session.Dr Pankaj Kaul, Dean of the University School of Allied Health Sciences, said quality assessment was a mandatory part of advanced clinical laboratories.

The University School of Allied Health Sciences also organized a function to mark World Malaria Day by organising a lecture by Subhashish Mukhopadya, Assistant Professor in Medical Science Laboratory. Posters made by students of the school were also put on display to create public awareness about malaria.
