Kisan Sampark Abhiyan Kick-Started on an ebullient note across 19 Panchayats of District Kathua

To promote sustainable agriculture practices and to improve the livelihoods of farmers, Kisan Sampark Abhiyan was kick-started today in 19 Panchayats of District Kathua.The 4-month long event which begins today is aimed at reaching out to farmers and educating them on the latest agricultural practices and technology.

In Kathua, the program was inaugurated by Dr Shubra Sharma, Director Animal Husbandry Department, who is also the Advisor for Holistic Agriculture Development Plan in Panchayat Nihalpur, Block Barnoti and Panchayat Badala in Block Kathua.The Kisan Sampark Abhiyan is a concerted effort by the government to bridge the gap between farmers and the latest agricultural practices and technology. 

The program aims to provide farmers with the necessary knowledge and skills to improve their crop yield and income. The program will focus on creating awareness about the latest technology and practices, educating farmers on crop management, soil health, and water management, among other things.

On the first day of the 3-day program, videos consisting of HADP and CSS were shown to farmers for their Orientation/ Awareness Generation vis a vis supporting farmers, adoption of Integrated Farming and promoting sustainable agriculture practices. The videos provided farmers with an overview of the latest technology and practices, including irrigation, crop protection, and soil health management.

Speaking after the inauguration, Dr Shubra Sharma highlighted the importance of the Kisan Sampark Abhiyan, saying, "This program is an important step towards empowering our farmers with the latest knowledge and skills. With the right training and guidance, our farmers can significantly improve their crop yield and income, ultimately contributing to the growth of our agricultural sector." 

She urged the farmers to make most of the available opportunities through training sessions and also called upon the concerned officers/officials to acquaint the farmers with the latest trends besides quelling their doubts.The Chief Animal Husbandry Officer, Jugal Kishore Gupta who is also the District Nodal Officer for implementation of HADP was present on the occasion. CAO Sanjeev Rai, PRIs and a large number of farmers were also present.

Apart from the District Headquarters, similar activities took place in other panchayats of remaining 18 blocks across the district, where farmers were also educated on the latest agricultural practices and technology.
