DDC Anantnag reviews progress of works of Jal Shakti Department

The District Development Commissioner (DDC) Anantnag, Dr Basharat Qayoom today reviewed the work progress of Jal Shakti Department.The Ex. Engineers of Qazigund and Bijbehara apprised the DDC that almost all works have been started and are under final stage of execution besides and large numbers of works have been completed and schemes have been commissioned.

The Ex. Engineer Jal Shakti Qazigund apprised the chair that out of 50 schemes 36 have already been completed in March and by the end of April rest 14 will be completed.Some issues related to forest, wildlife were raised by Ex. Engineers of both divisions which hampers the progress of works.

The DDC while directing the Ex. Engineers said that water being the essential requirement for sustenance of life, the department must ensure the regular and clean supply of drinking water to the habitations. He further said that every household must be connected with the tap water as part of National programme Har Ghar Nal Say Jal.

He directed the Ex. Engineers to start all the allotted works and expedite the pace of works, besides he also emphasised on coordination and cooperation with DPMU and pani samiti committees.The DDC further stressed joint verification of sites to sort out the issues of departments etc.

The meeting was attended by the ADC (A) Anantnag, Ex. Engineers of Bijbehara and Qazigund Jal Shakti divisions, A.E.Es, J.Es etc.
