District Administration Mansa launches an ‘Mansa Krishi Sevak’ - chatbot for farmers’ welfare

District Administration Mansa is pleased to announce the launch of a new Whatsapp-based chatbot called ‘Mansa Krishi Sevak’ for farmers in the district in partnership with Gramhal, a technological non-profit. The chatbot will be available in Punjabi and aims to provide farmers with easy access to the latest agricultural information to enhance their knowledge and income, said Deputy Commissioner Smt. Baldeep Kaur.
The chatbot has been developed to address the information gap that exists in the agricultural sector in the Mansa district. Farmers can now access important information such as weather updates, crop advisories, the latest market prices, directories of agriculture machinery for stubble management, and pest management solutions with just a few clicks on their mobile phones, she said.
The Mansa Krishi Sevak chatbot is an important step towards empowering farmers with the latest information and knowledge to improve their farming practices and income. We are pleased to partner with Gramhal, with expertise in developing innovative technological solutions for rural communities, to launch this initiative.
This chatbot will help in better utilization of stubble management machinery and will help in real time management of stubble by collecting information from farmers about the straw available in their fields. This partnership will amplify the government’s efforts to promote crop diversification and effective crop residue management.
