Gulzar Singh Ranike Directs Welfare Department To Clear Pendency

The Punjab Government has directed all officers of the Welfare Department to clear total pendency of backlog of work at headquarter, district as well as Tehsil levels across the state within one fortnight.In a communiqué, Gulzar Singh Ranike, SC/BC Welfare Minister directed that no case, file and work should be pending for more than four working days. He said that in case of delay, the concerned officer would be held accountable and would face strict disciplinary action. The Minister said that complaint regarding the same could be lodged with the Administrative Officer of the Welfare Department and action would be taken against the erring officer.He further said that the Punjab Government was committed to provide time-bound services to its citizens and no laxity would be tolerated at any level.
