Sant Seechewal Distributes Free Assistive Aids And Appliances Among 475 Differently Abled People

Says, These Aids Would Further Boost Confidence Among This Strata

Member Parliament Sant Balbir Singh Seechewal today distributed free-of-cost assitive aids and appliances among as many as 475 differently-abled people here at a distribution camp organised by district administration in collaboration with Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, ALIMCO, Mohali and Department of Social Security and Women and Child Development here at St. Josheph Convent School, Cantt Road, Jalandhar

Speaking on the occasion Member Parliament Sant Balbir Singh Seechewal said that these assistive aids and appliances would further boost morale of this section and called differently-abled people an integral part of our society. He said that this aid would bring ease in their lives thereby enabling them to carry out their routine chores smoothly.

Accompanied by District Planning Board Chairman Amritpal Singh, Chairperson Punjab State Container and Warehousing Corporation Rajwinder Kaur Thiara, Sant Seechewal addressing the gathering during 'Samajik Adhikarita' Camp said that specially-abled people are integral part of our society and they need not get disheartened due to their disability as State government is standing by them and his doors are open round the clock for such noble cause. 

He also mentioned that there is no paucity of funds for such camps as more camps would be planned in future to provide free-of-cost aid to needy people. The MP also lauded efforts of District Administration Jalandhar led by Deputy Commissioner Jaspreet Singh for organizing this mega event aimed at providing necessary assistance to this underprivileged section of the society. 

He also said that this was a unique initiative of the state government for provide healing touch to the people with special needs. He said that needy people must come forward and register themselves in these camps so that necessary assistance could be given to them. 

Pointing out further, Deputy Commissioner Jaspreet Singh said that a total 925 assitive aids and appliances have been distributed during the camp which included motorized tricycles, tricycles, folding wheel chairs, crutches, walking sticks, Rolletors,  hearing aids (BTE), MSIED Kits,  CP chairs, Smart Canes, Artificial limbs and Calipers, three smartphones, and one braille kit. He thanked Member Parliaments Sant Balbir Singh Seechewal and Harbhajan Singh for approving financial aid under MPLADS to hold this camp in collaboration with ALIMCO Mohali.

Meanwhile, beneficiaries also thanked district administration for providing free-of-cost aid to them. Zorawar Singh, a resident of village Anihar said that he has recieved motorized tricycle which will ensure his smooth movement despite his disability. Likewise, Sonia from Kot Ramdass also thanked administration for the aid.

Earlier, Additional Deputy Commissioner Varinderpal Singh Bajwa welcomed the dignitaries on their arrival at the camp.On the occasion SDM Dr. Jai Inder Singh, Social Activist Amarjit Singh Anand, Tehsildar Gurpreet Singh, District Program Officer  Manjinder Singh , District Social Security Officer Rajkiran Kaur,  and other officers were present.
