Deputy Commissioner Ms. Aashika Jain has instructed the officials to complete the ongoing urban development works at various places in stipulated time. While reviewing the urban development works in a meeting with officers at the district administrative complex, Deputy Commissioner took stock of the various ongoing development projects and asked to speed up these works.
During the meeting, the Deputy Commissioner directed the officers of the municipal councils to pay special attention to the sewage and drinking water supply in their respective areas so that the people do not face any problem.
Ms. Jain asked to pay special attention to the cleanliness of the different areas in view of the coming summer season so that diseases spread by mosquitoes can be avoided. On this occasion, Deputy Commissioner Ms. Ashika Jain directed to enshrine the circle of garbage collection from house to house in urban areas.
She asked to motivate people to separate wet and dry waste at home. She said that Resident Welfare Associations can play an important role in this process. She said that the contribution of these associations should be taken to create awareness about proper sold waste management.
Along with this, she reviewed the projects of solid waste management and also gave guidelines regarding bulk waste generators. Meanwhile, the Deputy Commissioner also directed the officers to reconcile the pending works.
She said that any slackness in these works will not be accepted. She told the concerned officials that if they are facing any kind of difficulty in working, then it should be brought to her notice. Giving special emphasis on the quality of development work, Ms. Aashika Jain said that all work should be done as per prescribed standards and no lapses will be tolerated.
The Deputy Commissioner also instructed the concerned officials to submit the utilization certificates of the completed works. Apart from this, instructions were also given to start the allotted works.
Additional Deputy Commissioner (Urban Development) Damanjit Singh Mann, Commissioner Municipal Corporation Navjot Kaur, SDM Mohali Sarbjit Kaur, SDM Dera bassi Himanshu Gupta, SDM Kharar Ravinder Singh, other officers were also present in the meeting.
