Sewerage project worth Rs. 6.34 crore to be completed within 5 months : Aman Arora

1500 families of Jagatpura, Gahir Colony and Kacha Paha would get relief from sewage problem facing from last 15 years

The Punjab Government under the leadership of the Chief Minister Mr. Bhagwant Mann is committed to fulfill every requirement of the people living in Sunam, the land of Shaheed Udham Singh Ji, within the stipulated time in a planned manner. 

While stating this, Punjab Information and Public Relations, New and Renewable Energy, Urban Development and Housing and Printing and Stationery Aman Arora said that the important development works were underway for the last 11 months and now a positive step has been taken to meet the demand of the families living in Jagatpura, Gahir Colony and Kacha Paha who are struggling with the problem of sewage disposal for the last one and a half decades. 

The cabinet minister, after laying the foundation stone of the sewerage project worth Rs. 6.34 crores under the Sunam City Sewerage Facility Renovation Scheme, said that the Bhagwant Maan government was committed to ensure all around development while keeping a positive attitude towards the interests of the people of Punjab, which the previous governments have completely neglected in the last 74 years and kept the people away from basic facilities.

Cabinet Minister Arora said that around 1500 families of Jagatpura Mohalla, Gahir Colony and Kacha Paha in Ward No. 22 of the city will get benefit under this scheme and the problem of waste water would be completely resolved. He said that the officials of Punjab Water Supply and Sewerage Division Sangrur have been instructed to complete this project within the next 5 months.

On this occasion, Chairman Punjab Water Supply and Sewerage Board Dr. Sunny Ahluwalia assured the Cabinet Minister that the officials have been instructed to carry out the work with full responsibility and honesty.

On this occasion, President Municipal Council Nishan Singh Tony, XEN Sewerage Board Sabjit Singh, Councilor Sunny Kansal, Sunil Kumar, Chamkaur Handa, Gurteg Singh Nikka, Baljit Singh, Harmesh Singh Pappi, Kulveer Singh Sandhe, Avtar Sandhe Sabji Mandi President, Hardeep Singh Sandhe, Sumandeep Kaur Jagatpura, Bahadur Singh Dhot, Gurmeet Singh Dhot, Mani Sarao, Manak Singh, Bali Singh, Tarsem Singh, Harmel Singh Mela, Bhanu Pratap, Kulvir Bhangu, Sukhdev Sukha, Ranjha Singh, Nand Lal, Ajmer Singh, Karam Singh, Babli, Malkit, Hardeep Singh Nikka, Manga Singh, Mukand, Jasveer Kaur Dhano and Jaswant Singh Banta were also present.
