Getting a verified badge on social media accounts is a big achievement for people. It has become like a social status symbol for people. Meta has ensured the launch of Meta Verified, the paid subscription model for the users of Instagram and Facebook. Now the users of Instagram and Facebook can get a blue verified tick to their account names.

Talking about the subscription, users would be mandated to provide their Government ID in order to get verified on Instagram and Facebook. Meta’s verified feature will offer a verified badge with an extra security feature to help authentic creators fight against impersonating accounts. It will also provide better customer services, increase in visibility and reach and more exclusive features.

Meta Verified’s trials are currently going on in Australia and New Zealand at $11.99 (around Rs 990) per month on the web and $14.99 (around Rs 1,240) per month on iPhones. Its price in India would likely be adjusted so as to consider a wide group of audience.

As per the announcement of Meta CEO, Mark Zukerberg through his Facebook post about Meta Verified, his post says, "This week we're starting to roll out Meta Verified -- a subscription service that lets you verify your account with a government ID, get a blue badge, get extra impersonation protection against accounts claiming to be you, and get direct access to customer support. This new feature is about increasing authenticity and security across our services."

Meta also clarified that the users verified through the old method will retain their badge and also Instagram will still let its users get verified by the old method.
