DDG UIDAI and Deputy commissioner reviews updation/enrollment of Aadhaar

DC orders officials to complete the updation work of Aadhar in time bound manner

Deputy Director General UIDAI, Regional Office, Bhawna Garg and Deputy commissioner kapurthala Mr Vishesh sarangal today reviewed the updation and enrollment of Aadhaar .

In a review meeting at DAC today alongwith officials of various departments, Bhawna Garg, IAS, Deputy Director General UIDAI, Regional Office, stressed the need for enrolling children for Aadhaar and updating biometrics, the fingerprints and iris scan of children on attaining the age of 5 and 15 years.

Residents who have enrolled for Aadhaar prior to 2015 need to get document updated in Aadhaar. Residents to update their Aadhaar by uploading supportive documents ie latest Proof of Identity (POI) /Proof of Address (POA) documents at nearest Aadhaar center.

She also said that Residents need to revalidate their information by submitting required documents, even though there is no change in their demographic data. If mobile number is registered in Aadhaar, resident can avail this service on-line by logging in at https://myaadhaar.uidai.gov.in/.

She said that Updation of Aadhar card was mandatory after 10 years of its generation and in this case people must get it updated as soon as possible.She also informed that Aadhaar also offers self-service update facility to residents, who want to update demographics information in Aadhaar including Name, Gender, Date of Birth and Address.

 Meanwhile, Deputy Commissioner Mr. Sarangal asked the officials to complete the work of Aadhar updation in given time frame besides running an awareness campaign in villages to update the Aadhar data.

He also appealed to the residents of to keep their Aadhaar information updated. He informed that Government has initiated an exercise to strengthen citizen's Aadhaar by updating latest Proof of Identity (POI) and Proof of Address (POA) documents.

He also emphasized the need to verify the Aadhaar, before accepting it as a proof of identity as it would help in identifying fake/photoshopped Aadhaar cards.He said that there are 73 Aadhaar centres running in the district and the district administration will ensure that citizens should get easy access and hassle free services.

Prominent amongst others present on the occasion included ADC General Mr Sagar Setia, SDM Chandrajyoti , Lal Vishwash Bains and heads of various departments.
