Today a team of 15 members of the IT Department raided BBC’s (British Broadcasting Corporation) Delhi office. The phones of the employees have been seized and they have been asked to leave for their homes. The IT Delhi team is also examining BBC’s Mumbai office where the employees have been asked to leave the office premises. The IT Department is surveying and carrying out the investigations due to allegations of irregularities in international taxation and transfer pricing.

Two people looking after the Urdu services, along with the finance department officials were inside the office premises, as reported. The department is looking for the documents related to the business operations of the company and its Indian arm. The IT Department only surveys and covers the business premises of the company, they do not raid promoter’s or directors residences and other locations.

The Congress party took to its twitter and talked about the IT raid. It tweeted in Hindi saying “First came the BBC documentary, it was banned. Now IT has raided the BBC. Undeclared emergency.”

पहले BBC की डॉक्यूमेंट्री आई, उसे बैन किया गया।

अब BBC पर IT का छापा पड़ गया है।

Then Congress MP Jairam Ramesh took to his twitter and wrote for the BBC Documentary and against Adani saying in Hindi, “Here, we are demanding a JPC in Adani’s case and there, the government is after the BBC.”

यहां हम अडानी के मामले में JPC की मांग कर रहे हैं और वहां सरकार BBC के पीछे पड़ी हुई है।

It is said that the raid is conducted due to the BBC Documentary which was recently released by BBC titled 'India: The Modi Question' which examines the 2002 Gujarat riots. The documentary aims to explore the role played by the government of then and shows that Narendar Modi was involved in the riots. As BBC is government funded then from where they got the fund for the making of documentary and also the people included in making the documentary were all anti-nationalists and involved in activities and making films and documentaries to defame India and destroy India’s image.
