Haryana Home and Health Minister, Sh. Anil Vij said that the connectivity will be further improved with the construction of a separate dedicated freight corridor for railway freight trains. He said that a freight corridor hub should also be made in Ambala because connectivity of Ambala is from every direction and Ambala is connected to many states.

Sh. Vij today inspected the work of launching of railway girder over GT Road by Dedicated Freight Corridor Corporation of India in Ambala. Home Minister Anil Vij praised the work being done without blocking the GT Road with modern technology and also inquired about the entire working.

He said that the government has strengthened the road network along with the railways, where new roads have been built, while roads have also been made from four-lane to six-lane. Similarly, Sh. Vij asked the Railway officials that the Railways is progressing continuously and the country is also on the path of progress due to the speed limit increase of the trains. 

While discussing the project with the railway officials, he said that he has a special attachment for the railways as his father was working in the railways and his childhood was spent in the railway colony.

Freight trains will run for long distances without brakes

Giving information to Home Minister Anil Vij, railway officials said that the first freight train on the freight corridor will run on the track at 25 kilometer per hour speed, after its formation the train will run 75 kilometer per hour speed. If freight trains run for long distances without applying brakes, there will be a lot of time saving. Similarly, a 175 kilometers rail line has been laid from Ludhiana to Saharanpur.

Railway line being laid from Kolkata to Ludhiana for freight trains

It is noteworthy that a separate corridor is being built for freight trains under the Dedicated Freight Corridor project. Rail line is being laid from Kolkata to Ludhiana for 1856 kilometers. There is a project of Rs 3 thousand crore from Saharanpur to Ludhiana. 

Freight trains will run on the new track as soon as this project is completed. In Ambala, the railway line will turn towards Shaheed Smarak along the Ambala-Saharanpur railway line, then passing over the GT Road and Ambala-Delhi railway line, this line will pass through the railway colony and go further towards Ludhiana.

On this occasion, Samanvay Pankaj Gupta, General Manager, Dedicated Freight Corridor Corporation of India, Sanjay Singh, Chief Project Manager, Tata Projects, Kapil Vij, BJP Mandal President Rajeev Gupta Dimple, Shaili Khanna, Vipin Khanna, Sahil Agarwal and others were present.
