Punjab Chief Minister Mr. Parkash Singh Badal and Deputy Chief Minister Mr. Sukhbir Singh Badal will administer the oath of office and secrecy to the newly elected village Sarpanches and Panches in district level functions.Disclosing this here today, Mr. Surjit Singh Rakhra, Rural Development and Panchayats Minister, Punjab said that functions in this regard will be held in all 22 districts from August 1 to August 10, in which Chief Minister would administer the oath to newly elected rural representatives from August 1 to 5 in 10 districts while the Deputy CM would preside over functions from August 5 to 10 in remaining districts. The Minister said that oath would be administered to 13047 Sarpanches and 81109 Panches in these functions.

Giving details about the functions to be held, Mr. Rakhra said that Chief Minister would preside over the function on August 1 at Amritsar and Tarn Taran, on August 2 at Jalandhar and Kapurthala while in Bathinda and Mansa functions would be held on August 3, on August 4 at Patiala and Ludhiana and on August 5 CM would administer the oath to the Sarpanches and Panches of Sangrur and Barnala. He said that the Deputy CM would administer the oath to Sarpanches and Panches of districts Pathankot and Gurdaspur on August 5, at Nawan Shahr and Hoshiarpur on August 6, Roopnagar, Fatehgarh Sahib and Mohali on August 7, Sri Muktsar Sahib and Fazilka on August 8, Faridkot and Moga on August 9 and on August 10 the oath would be administered at Ferozepur. Mr. Rakhra said that the first oath ceremony function would be held at 11am while the second function at 3pm whereas the functions on August 7 would take place at 11am, 2pm and 4pm respectively.
