Deep Sidhu

Deep Sidhu, a Punjabi actor who turned into an activist died after his car collided with a truck on the Kundli-Manesar-Palwal expressway in Haryana's Sonipat district. The 37-year-old actor was said to be traveling from Delhi to Punjab when the incident occurred near Pipli toll plaza in Kharkhoda. Many Punjabi artists have shown their grief towards the demise of Deep Sidhu. He was even active in Farmers’ protests. He was even arrested in connection with the Red Fort violence on Republic Day during the farmers' tractor parade against the Centre's three agriculture laws.

Tarsame Singh Saini aka Taz

One of the famous 90s pop sensations Tarsame Singh Saini, popularly known as Taz from Stereo Nation has passed away at the age of 54. It has been reported that the singer suffered liver failure due to which he went into a coma. Not only in the Punjabi music industry but he has also contributed his vocals to Bollywood. He crooned some popular songs like “Daroo Vich Pyar” (Tum Bin), “It’s magic” (Koi Mil Gaya), “Hit The Deck”, “Nachange Saari Raat”, among others to his credit.

Sidhu Moose Wala

The death of the 24 years old singer has numbed his state. Sidhu Moose Wala was shot by 24 bullets. He was shot dead in his native village Moosa of Punjab’s Mansa district on May 29. His courageous lyrical tirade against the rat race of the corporate world and consumerist lives served as the foundation for the international appeal of his rap genre. Sidhu Moosewala's real life and his life in the rap game are very different from one another. Fans and families are still mourning and demanding justice from the government.

Daljeet Kaur

Putt Jattan De’ star Daljeet Kaur passed away at the age of 69. The actress has amused viewers with many hit films. Kaur had more than 70 Punjabi movies and 10 Hindi films. She made her debut in the year 1976 with the film, ‘Daaj’. She headlined several blockbusters such as, ‘Putt Jattan De’, ‘Mamla Gadbad Hai’, ‘Ki Banu Duniya Da’, ‘Sarpanch’, ‘Patola’ etc.

Balwinder Safri

‘Tu Hoor Sonhiye' singer Balwinder Safri died at the age of 63. He was suffering from many heart issues and died due to the same. Safri’s death was one of the big losses to the Punjabi entertainment industry. Meanwhile, he was a UK-based Punjabi singer and was known for his popular tracks like 'O chan mere makhna', 'Pao Bhangra', 'Gal Sun Kuriye', 'Nachdi Nu' and many more.

Nirvair Singh

Nirvair Singh, a Punjabi musician living in Australia who is most known for the song Tere Bina from the album My Turn, died in a car accident there. Singh went to Australia nine years ago in search of a better living and to further his singing profession. He became a well-known artist after dropping the track ‘Tere Bina’ from the album My Turn. Other popular songs from the same year include Hikk Thok Ke, a duet with Gurlez Akhtar, Je Russgi, Ferrari Dream, and Darda a Dil.

It has been a great loss for the Punjabi industry. Some of these artists are still making their names in the headlines. Though they left us too soon but will always stay in our hearts and live through their art.
