Punjab Approves 9 New Road Projects: Dhillon

Rs 1400 Crore To Be Spent On 460 Km Roads

The Punjab Government has given approval to 9 new Road Projects which would cost Rs 1400 Crore.  Disclosing this here today, Sharanjit Singh Dhillon, Public Works Department Minister, said that Punjab Government conducted special survey in the State under which these nine road projects were identified. He said that the new road projects include 70.67 km Barnala-Mansa-Sardulgarh-Sirsa Road(Up to Haryana Border),  33.75 km Ratiya- Boha- Budhlada- Bhikhi Road, 24.05 km Mukerian-Gurdaspur road, 59.16 km Dharamkot- Zira- Ferozepur Road, 33.50 km Phillaur- Naggar-Rahon Road, 87.70 km Kapurthala-Tarn Taran- Chhabal- Attari Road, 56.57 km Chandigarh-Landran- Chunni- Sirhind road, 52.50 km Rampura-Maur-Talwandi Sabo-Raman Mandi and 33.60 km Shri Mukatsar sahib-Malout Road.Mr. Dhillon said that detailed report for this project is prepared and all primary formalities for this project would be completed within coming three months.Mr Dhillon further said that under the dynamic leadership of Chief Minister Mr Parkash singh Badal and visionary guidance of Deputy Chief Minister Mr Sukhbir Singh Badal, Punjab is all set to become the state, having best road connectivity in the country. He added that during tenure of the SAD-BJP Government Rs 624 Crore were spent on upgrading 520 KM Roads and 33 Railway Overbridges were built with the cost of 564 Crore.
