Kishtwar gears up for Revision of Panchayat Electoral Rolls-2023
DPEO reviews preparedness, discusses modalities for smooth conduct of Revision

District Panchayat Election Officer (DPEO), Kishtwar Dr Devansh Yadav, today chaired a meeting to review the preparedness besides discussed modalities for Revision of Panchayat Electoral Rolls 2023 which will start from December 21, 2022, with January 1, 2023 as the qualifying date.
The meeting was attended by ADC (in charge) Inderjeet Singh Parihar, Deputy District Election Officer,Naresh Kumar;DPO Kishtwar Sunil Bhutyal, SDM Marwah Dr Mohsin Raza, Assistant Electoral Registration Officers, Panchayat (BDOs), PEBOs and election officials.
The meeting discussed in detail the preparation for publication of draft Electoral Roll at Polling Station on the prescribed date. The latest and lastly updated Panchayat Electoral Roll will serve as the base for the Revised Roll.
The meeting also discussed availability of the recently updated electoral rolls and Panchayat electoral rolls, besides role and responsibilities of EROs, AEROs and PEBOs during the Panchayat Electoral Roll Revision were also discussed threadbare.
During the meeting, Deputy Panchayat Election Officer Kishtwar was asked to furnish the details of EROs, AEROs and Panchayat Election Booth Officers on district website for the convenience of the general public.
The meeting further deliberated upon the schedule of revision, publication of draft roll on website and in the offices of EROs/AEROs/PEBOs (VLWs) for the information of the concerned. The DPEO urged the government functionaries and other stakeholders to actively participate in the Panchayat Electoral Roll revision exercise to ensure enrollment of all eligible voters in the Electoral Roll.
Earlier, the Dy. DEO informed that six special camps shall be organized during the revision period and the panchayat Booth Level Officers (PBLOs) shall remain available at respective booths with requisite Forms and draft electoral rolls for the guidance of the electors.
He informed that as per schedule six (06) Special Camps shall be organized at all the polling station locations across the District on 31.12.2022 (Saturday), 01.01.2023 (Sunday), 07.01.2023 (Saturday), 08.01.2023 (Sunday), 14.01.2023 (Saturday) and 15.01.2023 (Sunday).
Moreover, the concerned AERO (Block Development Officer) will collect all the details of claims and objections received on the day of Special Camps as per the prescribed format and will submit to ERO concerned who will further submit to the District Panchayat Election Officer (Deputy Commissioner).
