GOAT of the Punjabi music and film industry, Diljit Dosanjh has never missed any opportunity to engage or entertain his fans. And once again the artist is being in the headlines for his upcoming project. A couple of days back, he shared his picture and flaunts his new look for a new film. And the buzz has been created that Dosanjhawala is working on Chamkila’s biopic.
Though the team hasn't been confirmed, the strong speculations have finally come to an end. In a recent interview with Anupama Chopra, Diljit has confirmed Chamkila’s biopic. Not only this he even revealed that the shoot for the same will start on December 11, 2021. It’s a Hindu film and prolific filmmaker Imtiaz Ali has been working on the same. Diljit also unveiled that the music work has been completed and AR Rahman has created the same.

Moreover, Diljit also called Imtiaz a ‘serious’ filmmaker. He says that “Every day, Imtiaz sir writes me a mail on the things I should take care of while playing the part, how Chamkila was, how he used to stand and how he used to speak. I’ve never experienced a process like this. As an actor, I’m not schooled this way.”
Further, Diljit also informed about the female lead actress in the upcoming biopic. He said that Parineeti Chopra who he calls a commendable actress is essaying the role opposite him. She will be playing as Amarjot Kaur, wife of Amar Singh Chamkila. Both were talented artists of Punjab and were killed in daylight.
Meanwhile, the films of Imtiaz Ali and Diljit Dosanjh were always keenly anticipated. And now fans are more curious to know details about the same. Earlier, it has been reported that during the research part, Ali had frequently been visiting Chamkila’s son Jaiman Chamkila residence in Ludhiana, Punjab, and keeping his family informed about the developments in the film.
